Outlook's new appearance - Please help change

My simple brain is bothered by the new appearance of Outlook. Specifically, I am referring to how the mail, calendar, people icons now appear at the top left of the window as opposed to the bottom left. Is there any way to reposition them back to the bottom left?

Honestly, I don't even remember all of those icons being available before. I only ever used the mail (envelop) and calendar (tiny calendar image) icons.

    Thank you!

The area you are talking about is called the Navigation Pane. Those icons used to be at the bottom of the Folder Pane, taking minimal space. Now they are in their own pane, needing just a little space but taking up a whole vertical swath, narrowing the effective usable remaining space.

There are thousands of people who complained about this when they made the change, gradually rolled out through various channels and I think now standard across all versions. I have never seen a way to change it. Hopefully someone shows up to tell me I'm wrong.

    This is very disappointing news

    Thank you for the response.

Thanks to you for sharing the name of the area I was referring to (Navigation Pane), I found this:

    https://www.msoutlook.info/question/...ne-on-the-left

So, I got it to revert to the old look. At least for a while.

I tried that and it had no effect on the navigation pane. No idea what it's supposed to do. I use Office 365, maybe that's different.

I haven't updated my MS Office version for this forum, but I am also on Office 365. The above method worked for a coworker and me. It does require a restart of Outlook.
