from text in 1 cell to 1 character per cell in several rows

Hi guys,

I cannot seem to figure this one out:
I have a cell with 200 characters in it; for example maijermili.......
What I want is all these characters in different cells, under each other; so:
m
a
i
j
e
r
m
i
l
i
.
.
.

Does anybody have an automated way of doing this?

1 possibility is that I first divide them into different columns; like this:
m a i j e r m i l i . . .
and then transpose everything.
Problem with this method is that, before I can do this, I have to separate every character with a space...manually, so way too time-consuming. So if anybody knows an automated way of adding spaces between every character, this would also be helpful.

This regular formula, copied down, removes the spaces and lists the individual characters vertically

But both formula's do not seem to work for me. What I do is
-type my text in A1: for example qmlskjfemlnnlksnenf
-type your formula in A2
When I press enter, it gives me an error.

Any suggestions?

Try copying the formula from the screen and pasting it into your worksheet. Does that help?

No, this doesn't help.
When I copy it and enter, I don't get an error (I just see the formula in A2).
However, when I click on A2 again and then push enter, I get the error...
