    Excel 2010 Display a certain colour in a cell depending on a value on another cell

    Hi,

    Can someone help please.

    I have a series of cells that return a 0 or 1 depending on whether or not someone answers yes or no to the questions.

    The cells have a running total and what I want to do is depending on the overall total number display on a separate worksheet a Red Amber Green status

    So Worksheet2 Cell F48 has the total if that total is greater than 50 I want Worksheet1 Cell C8 to have a green fill, if it is between 42-45 I want it to have an Amber fill and finally if it is less than 41 I want it to a red fill.

    How can I achieve this please?

    Thanking you in advance for all your help.

    Kind regards

    John

    This is exactly what Conditional Formatting does...

    You havent specified a colour for the range 46-50

    Select Sheet1!C8

    Conditional Formatting
    New Rule
    Use a formula to determine...

    =(Sheet1!A1>50)
    format as green

    =(Sheet1!A1<=50)
    format as ??? (Colour for range 46-50)

    =(Sheet1!A1<=45)
    format as amber

    =(Sheet1!A1<=41)
    format as red

    Format as required
    Use Format painter (paintbrush icon) to copy to other cells

    Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.
