    Formatting by date

    Hi
    I would like to have a formula that turns the text Red if a certain date has been exceeded.
    I know the below doesn't work, but to give an example.

    In A1 i have the text "Yes"

    And in A1 i made an conditional formatting.
    1.Use a formula to determine which cells to format.
    2. ="(TODAY()<DATE(2020,02,06)"
    3. Format = Text Red

    That's all.

    So..
    If date 2020,02,06 is earlier than today's date, then the text must be red.
    If date 2020,02,06 is later than today's date, then the text must keep black.

    I do not want an extra collume with date's, to validate against.
    I would like it to be oneline.

    Best regards
    JAKIV

    Re: Formatting by date

    Try this rule for A1:

    =AND(A1<>"",TODAY()<DATE(2020,2,6))

    Of course, it won't be red because today is not earlier than any date in 2020, so test with dates before and after today!

    I don't know what you mean by "I would like it to be online" - is your version of Excel still 2016?

    Re: Formatting by date

    Hi and thanks #AliGW

    Your suggestion helped me a lot on my way, although I had to change the order a bit to get it to fit.
    So instead it came to be..
    =AND(A1<>"";DATE(2022;12;6)<TODAY())

    I'm not quite sure whether to give points in this forum or how to credit you as the one who came up with the solution.
    The case must also be changed tol SOLVED, but I'd better read the Forum rules :-)

    Best regards
