I wish to count the number of times 2 names appear in in a column.
I attach a small table showing what I require but the wrong result I keep getting.
Attached file Test shows data etc

Welcome to the forum.
Can I confirm first that your Excel is the old 2010 version?

OK - please update your forum profile.
In C23 copied across:
=IF(COUNTA(FILTER(Table1[Column1],(Table1[Column1]="Alf")+(Table1[Column1]="Andy")))>1,1,0)

Thanks Ali works fine. Was using formula =Countif(C17:c20,"alf")+countif(c17:20,"Andy2).
That worked for the column when both names were there but in others would give a tue if only 1 name wa in that column.
Once again thanks can now get my golf schedule sorted !!!
You still need to update your forum profile to Excel 2021, please.
Glad to have helped.
