    script to enable a rule

    Hello all,
I am trying to find a way to turn on a rule when an email arrives from a particular recipient.

I have found posts available on the web showing macros which enable and run all rules, but I am only looking to turn on 1 rule without running.

Is it possible to have a script which turns on 1 single rule?

    Thanks!

Re: script to enable a rule

    Hi JosephP,
Thank you very much for the reply.

The issue that I am having is that my company's out of office assistant only replys to emails within our domain. Most of the people I am in contact for do not work directly for my company and would not get the out of office reply. I found a way to reply, via forwarding, all messages I receive, but need a way to turn it on (this is the part that I was looking for assistance on). Obviously, if I am sick, I am not there to turn on the rule. So, I was looking for a way to turn the rule on remotely by using my own personal email address as the trigger.

After much research, I was able to figure out how to resolve this. For those who are interested, here is the answer.

You need 2 rules connected to 2 different scripts.
    1. the script I mentioned that forwards the email is:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
I then have another script which looks for an email where I am the recipient and turns on the rule.

    2. The script that turns on 1 single rule...
Please Login or Register to view this content.
I had named my forwarding rule "autoreplyemail", so if anyone plans on using this, change the name of your rule or the reference in the script.

Then, in my rules, I choose scrip and choose the appropriate script in the drop down.

    Hope someone finds this useful!
