Dear All,

Thanks very much in advance for your help! I've been a long-time reader/stalker on these forums and have learned a tremendous amount, so thank you all!

My question:

I have a database in excel that holds a six-digit number (I'm calling it the "Project Number") and then subsequent fields in that row that contain data related to that column.

I receive emails containing these six-digit numbers all the time (100+ a day), but then I have to log into this database to see what the project number is referencing. I would like to build an add-in or macro that will allow me to easily check, from Outlook, the data contained in the row for that project number. Is this doable?

If so, would it be possible to either 1. have the macro/add-in activate if I highlight just the six-digit number with my mouse or 2.) have a window (like calendar or tasks) that is always on the right-hand side that I could just drag and drop the project number into, and have it spit out the information from the database for that project number?

Thanks!
