    MailItem.Save Location

I use a macro to create some mail in Outlook 2010 (Version 14.0.7128.5000). The macro functions properly, except the mailitem.save command currently creates a mailitem in the Drafts folder of a dead account that had previously been the default. I changed the default account several weeks ago in Account Settings (and can see the checkmark on the new account), but can't find anything that could be confusing Outlook.

    So, I have two questions:
    1. Since Outlook appears to be confused about the default account, is there a registry setting that needs to be reset?
    2. Is there a way in the macro to dictate which account the mailitem should land in?

Thank you for any help you can offer.

    SemiSolved: MailItem.Save Location

I was hoping to get a more elegant solution, in fact, one that would allow me to delete the defunct folder that had been the default, but a work-around will have to do.

My lousy solution is to just move the message after it is created. It works, but I am forced to keep the old default folder, since I can't get Outlook to recognize the new default for this process - it does recognize the new one as the default for everything else.

Please, if any experts run across this and can help me fix Outlook's understanding of the default folder, I would appreciate it greatly.

    Re: MailItem.Save Location

    Hi,

    In the registry:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
There will be DefaultProfile as REG_SZ and the data entry should be the default profile name. I'm guessing this is already set correctly as the one you want as default shows as ticked in Outlook.
