Finding the different the Unit of Measures in cells with text and return a "D" or "L"

    All, Good Afternoon.
I am trying to wrap a project up currently and have one final question for the attached spreadsheet.

Object is to find a formula that will look at the Description Column (A2:A18) for a specific Unit of Measure that is present in the Column B.

I want to return the letter "D" or "L".

In adddition, One issue I have is in Cell B3 and Cell B8 is that both contain the lookup UOM of "oz". B3 should return a "D" in Cell D3.... and B8 should return a "L" in cell D8. I am not sure how to differentiate this.

My intention is to have one formula that I can spill down to get the correct letter in all cells below.

This speadsheet I am working on is appx 3000 rows. So one formula would be great. Any help with this is really really appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Pete

I suggest that you create a look up table that contains all your Units of Measure and whether it is liquid or dry. Then you can use Vlookup or Index/Match to complete your task.
