Presentation set to Read Only Question

    Hello All,

I have a Presentation and have set it to Read Only.

When the file is opened it says READ-ONLY To prevent accidental changes, the author has set this file to open as read only... With a Big Button that says:

    "Edit Anyway"

What is the point of making the file read only if the user can edit the file???

How do I save the file so no user can change the document?

    Thanks

    John...

    Hi kowon,

    Thanks for your reply

I think your linked solution is related to Excel Yes???

I do not see that option in PowerPoint

Ooo, sorry, didn't notice. Majority of questions are Excel.

Yes, you can set password to modify in PowerPoint also.

Click Save As and left of the button Save there is Tools -> General options and type in Password to modify.

Re: Presentation set to Read Only Question

True, I generally only come here for Excel questions if needed, but I knew there was other sections here so thought I would give it a try

I have completed the option you mention...

I stand corrected , I did not realize that even though the user is requested to enter a Password, the button to the right also enables the user to select a Read Only button and then the user can review the presentation with the options to edit
