    Disable Mouse in Regular Excel

    Hey guys!

Does anyone know if I can disable the mouse entirely? I want to be able to force the user of the workbook to use the keyboard and the key commands rather than be able to click on buttons in the ribbon. Essentially, I want the functionality of "un-plugging the mouse". With laptops these days, this proves to be rather challenging!

Ideally, I would like to be able to password protect this code so that it can't be deleted.

    Thanks!

You can't do that - You could learn how to create a custom Ribbon interface. I don't know how to use the keyboard and key commands anymore, and haven't used a spreadsheet that way since I stopped using key-stroke macros in Quattro Pro....

So theoretically, I could create a custom ribbon that is entirely blank?

Not entirely blank. You can completely reset the ribbon using startFromScratch = "True" in the XLM, but a few options not created by you will still be available (New file, open, save, exit, etc.)

Could I create a ribbon that has "buttons" that are un-clickable, but will still show hot-keys when I press alt?

I don't know - I am not very experienced with creating ribbon buttons, and use the standard button logic where the button is always available.
