Pivot Table Conditional Formatting Dissappears / Pivot Table Leaves Colored Cells

Two questions relating to Pivot Tables...Excel 2010

    (1) How can I make it so the conditional formatting I put in a pivot table stays in tact whenever it is refreshed?

    (2) Whenever I have a Pivot Table that contracts when there is less data, the cells that the pivot table used to cover are left covered in a light blue color. I have to keep going back on those cells and remove the color before printing. Is there a setting that will stop these cells from being formatted blue?

    Thx!

are you applying the conditional format in the pivot table correctly? (as opposed to normal CF)
