Hi All,
I have attached an updated example of what I am trying to achieve, and have re-worded my description of the problem. There are three tabs, the first showing that my the final result (cell C79) is correct when no cost increases hit against the project. The final award of $89,000 plus $13,500 of contingency leaves me with $897,650 from my $1M budget.
Sheet two shows that when I now add a $50,000 change order to either column C or D the 50K and its associated contingency of $7,500 is not being reduced to show my that my remaining authority should be $840,150 . Please note that if I was simply to add the $50,000 to column E in this example everything would work fine, however I can't do that b/c column E must match an accounting file, so I need to be able to plug it into column C or D and then once on contract reflect it in column E.
Sheet 3 shows the desired end state by overwriting the formulas (highlighted) in columns G and L so that it forces it work in cell C79 by showing remaining authority of $840,150.
The formulas as developed in G & L have worked otherwise, so I would like to keep their intent other than this headache....
Again any and all help is appreciated.
Thx.
Chris
