Hi Winon,
Do you mean the .txt file in #1 of that thread?
I don't have any problems downloading it here.

hi Richard,
Thank you for your response!
I keep on receiving "Error-Data Base Error" or when and if I manage to access any one of the two threads, the "Spinner" goes on for almost ever, and when it stops, i am left with a blank screen.
Regards.
I've encountered many times when the spinner seems to go on forever today, and I've had a lot of Database errors when I've tried to log in.
This is not a pleasant experience anymore.
I hope this is not indicative of what 2017 is going to be like on Excel Forum.

Eventually with my reply to you, and hitting "Submit Quick Reply", I was presented with the "Go Advanced" Screen stating "This forum requires that you wait 30 seconds between posts. Please try again in 14 seconds."
Now. if I click on the subject at hand, my Post appears very innocent, as if nothing else was actually required, with said statement, "This forum requires that you wait 30 seconds between posts. Please try again in 14 seconds."
This really baffles me.
Thank you for the confirmation Pete!
Maybe we are wishing for the impossible with the proven incompetent "TT". Hope they prove me wrong!I hope this is not indicative of what 2017 is going to be like on Excel Forum.
We have been having forum problems today and last night. Both Jerry and I have reported it - it gets fixed for a while, then slows/stops again. Maybe the cleaning lady parked her cart on the server cable?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

hmm see what I mean?
I've removed quite a lot of clearly accidental duplicate postings today and it's thrown me out a few times. Hard work!

I received 22 email notifications of your Post #8, Ford (or was it Post #7 ?). I often receive multiples nowadays, but I think that is the first time I have received over 20 for the same post.
Pete
wow that is a lot. I have asked the TT to post a banner saying we have a problem, but good luck with that
Same on my side Pete,
I received 21 email notifications of Ford's reply.
Yes, Paul, when I started here there were lots of new posts/threads to be answered and there were far fewer problems than we have been getting in more recent years. It's much more of a chore nowadays waiting for screens to load etc.
Pete
Given your previous sentence:
your:I've encountered many times when the spinner seems to go on forever today, and I've had a lot of Database errors when I've tried to log in.
suggests those errors have ceased being a pleasant experience and, hence, had been...This is not a pleasant experience anymore.
I do admire all those who, despite the unending and constant problems in this forum keep answering. ( I gave up a long time ago, I just report cross posters out of courtesy ( and I sometimes wonder why))
There are other, perfectly working forums, which could benefit from your expertise.
Perhaps if all the " heavy answering" members stopped helping for a couple of weeks, the TT and/or owner would awaken?
I'm not a fan of strike action. Why? Because those people coming here for help need the help, whether the forum is working properly or not. Yes, the glitches are painful at times, but it's not their fault, and I don't feel that I should penalise them for something beyond their control. I do wish, however, that the tech team and/or owner would be visible here and show some proactive behaviour. Each to his own, of course - this is just my take on it.
.................and I thought that it was just me and my machine!
Perhaps then some passive resistance to mismanagement ( like Gandhi) ?
Doing something would , at the least, and if there is any reaction form the powers that be ( which I doubt), enable more people "in need" of help to find it here instead of getting a sucuri ( or whatever) warning.
So, it all boils down to : let things the way they are, and help 45% of those who need it, or try to do something about it. In the worst case, nothing changes. In the best case perhaps 75% will find help.
For what it's worth, I have requested management and TT to read this thread, and to comment - time will tell

Maybe the reference to "serial entrepreneur" should be "Frosted Flake"

Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate
That may have been true at one time but it certainly isn't the case nowadays.the biggest Microsoft Excel related website on the planet(www.excelforum.com) that has over 150,000 unique visitors every day and 3.9m unique visitors per month
A help forum, like this one, is only as good as its most knowledgeable members.
If you start losing your most knowledgeable members then the quality of your site is diminished.
