Aggregate / group by within a chart

Hi. I'm new to this level of sophistication in Excel so please forgive me if this has been asked and answered a hundred times before. I did search for this but couldn't find an appropriate question or response.

I have a table that has duplicate identifiers in the rows but different values in the columns. I need to create a stacked column chart with the columns as the categories but aggregates of the rows as the series. Is this possible?

So if this is my data:

This is what I want (I had to hack the data to get this):
    snap00499.jpg

One other thing... As shown in the chart, if I'm only charting the first three columns, I don't want any values in the fourth column to be included and any rows that have no values in the first three columns should not even appear in the legend (A4 in the above example).

Is there a way of achieving this without using PivotTables/PivotCharts or Power Query?

    Thanks!

Hello rjrcooper and Welcome to Excel Forum.
Not sure what you have against Pivot Tables/Charts, however I included one on the Pivot Chart sheet to show how easily this can be accomplished.
On Sheet 1 there is a helper table with unique companies listed as row labels, this could be done by formula if needed, and the column headers copied over.
The formula that fills the table is:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.
A portion of the table, matching your criteria, is then selected as data for the chart, you'll see this when you select the 'Enable Editing' button and select the chart.
*For future reference you will likely get faster results if you upload a sample of your spreadsheet rather than screenshots.
To attach a sample workbook click on the GO ADVANCED button below the Quick Reply window and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
Let us know if you have any questions.
