Locking an entire Excel Workbook without being able to edit, but can still view data.

    Hi all!

Wondering if someone could help, seems like an easy thing but I cannot figure it out! I need to lock an entire workbook that has 100+ pages on, so nobody can edit it, however I still want people to be able to view all pages and view all data without changing it.

    Does anyone know the solution?

    Thank you

The easiest way is so save it with a password to modify, so people can only open it read only. This would accomplish the same thing

If you just want to lock the entire workbook, this can be done in the review tab and select the protect workbook option (password is optional), if its going to be a shared workbook on a shared drive it may be a different process but overall I believe that's the option you're looking for
