Count Number of Days excluding overlapped dates between multiple dates

Hi, I can't seem to work out a formula, where i count the total dates between four dates, excluding any overlapping dates in a reporting month. Please see attached layout and data -

There are two set of dates - Start/End date for A and Start/End date for B. I want to be able to calculate the number of days between those dates that fits within the reporting period (D1 to D2) excluding any overlapping dates between A and B. I have manually calculated a few examples, to show what I mean, in column F.

I would really appreciate it if someone can advise me a formula that could go into column F, that would return the correct number of days.
