Sum a range of cells based on Formula drive reference cell

Hi,

I am trying to sum a range of cells which are greater than the reference cell (either C2 which is a formula, or D2).

I want to split my number between current and non-current years and so disregard any years in the past on only focus on the future.

Current formula I have is =SUMIF(C12:C86,">C2",E12:E86) but this just gives me a zero result.
I have also tried =sumif(B12:B86,">D2",E12:E86) to no avail.

*EDIT NOTE: I have also tried to put the cell reference in brackets ie (C2), but this only gives me a total sum of all values in the column not values greater than the cell value.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,

You have TEXT values in C2 and C13:C86 from your CONCATENATE formulas, I've changed the formula to convert the results to real Numbers.

Then the correct syntax for your SUMIF in E5:
