Question Dependent Dropdown List based on Pivot Table Format

    Hey guys,

I have to make a Dependent Dropdown list for a small encoding task at work, however, the tutorials I find online aren't suited for the format we use in our database.

Here's an example & picture of what I mean:

The tutorials point towards having named ranges on top of the table, then using that in an indirect formula, and having the secondary dropdown validation rely on this (see example A). I can't do this simply because our database numbers in the thousands, and its in a pivot table format. I also tried adapting the tutorials formula to my format, but it won't work.

I need to create a dependent dropdown list that works with pivot table's transacional format. (see example B)

I would greatly appreciate it if someone showed me how to do this.

Attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
