Cool Formula for Calculating Job Task Weight

    Hello there!
I am a manager of individuals that work on technical writing investigations. The investigations are categorized by 4 levels of severity, each level taking a different amount of time (increasing in severity). Additionally, external factors or multiple root cause findings can extend the time of the investigation. I want to create a smart excel spreadsheet that assigns a finite percentage to each employee, which equates to workload, let's say 100%. Each investigation assigned will make up a certain percentage, with those being higher in severity also higher in percentage. Also, the external factors or >1 root cause will be weighted as additional percentage. This will allow me to ensure an even workload among my writers. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you,
    S.

This really needs a test template, it doesn't have to be big or real but it does need to show the A,B,C's that assign the severity and what the end result should look like.

Post a small Excel sheet (not a picture) showing realistic & representative sample data WITHOUT confidential information (10-20 rows, not thousands...) and some manually calculated results. Just before posting, scroll down to GO ADVANCED, click, and then scroll down to MANAGE ATTACHMENTS and click again. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.
Uploading an attachment will assist Forum Members in finding the correct Solution for you. Create a dummy worksheet if necessary, add your start data and show where / what your expected results should be. TO ADD A FILE:

Go to 'Advanced. click on 'Manage Attachments. Select 'Browse & Choose your file, Select 'Upload and then close the Attachment window.

I have made up a quick template for you that shows the IF formulas required. Let me know if you have any questions.
