    Vlookup and drop down

    Hello everyone-

I'm going crazy here trying to do something relatively simple. I am just trying to run a vlookup or a match/index to find values when I use a drop down menu. I consistently either get n/a or Ref errors. I am jut attempting to get values from the data table (on the left) to populate on the right when the pertinent selections is made from the dropdown.

I am basically trying to sort/list wiring amounts completed by supervisor name. This table will be extended downward to reflect the 100 types of wire we have. I will have dynamic charting that changes depending on the selection.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to help me!!!!!!!!!!

    Hello!
Thanks for the response, however, this solution doesn't appear to take into consideration the dropdown.
    Please advise-
    Thanks for your help,
    John

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I don't understand why you have 4 columns on the right if you are selecting one of them in the drop down.

For example, if you select "Can" in the drop down, don't you only want to show values in the Can column (column D)?

    Re: Vlookup and drop down

    Hello-
I am planning on using the left table as a reference table-I am going to then build a chart from the table from right hand side, allowing the drop down to let the user adjust what data they want to see from the initial date dump.
    Thanks!
