Toggle Between Data Sets in Excel Chart

    Hi,

First post, so thanks for your patience. I'm a basic level excel user. Is it possible to toggle between data sets in a chart. Basically, I want to be able to switch between two sets of data but on the same chart, with the same axis values.

    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to the forum.

Please look at the splash screen when you launch Excel to determine your version and update your user profile.

The best way to do what you want is to feed the data into another table that can be hidden under the chart. This table will populate based on a drop-down selector.

The best way to demonstrate this would be in a sample workbook provided by you - instructions at the top of the page.

Hello and Welcome to the Forum

It is possible, but possibly not so basic.

See attached Workbook - This is a basic representation on how to do it.

Columns A, B and C represent the two data sets to compare.

Column D represents a list of the two data sets.

Column E has a 'Data Validation' list based on the list in Column D

Column F and G represent the data for your graph.

Column F contains the X axis values, Golumn G the data you want to graph on Y.

Column G is actually a VLOOKUP based on the value you select in E1 - You can use this drop down list to swap between "Stuff" and "Other Stuff" and the graph will change accordingly.

    Can you work with that?
