Sum of Rows with Index

Hi,

I have a data as per attached file.

I need to sum as per name of person with SUM and Index function.

function returns #VALUE!

Please guide how to fix the issue.

Your function is working.
But can you guide what was wrong with my SUm and Index function

you did not provided the row number to index function

another way to do the same is go to formula>>name manager>>create from selection check the left column

now click name manager and you will see excel has created names with values

then use formula as
