Fix A Cell Reference in multiple already created formulas

I have created this formula: =(D180/C180)*E5 ........ I then drag the formula down (several cells) so =(D181/C181)*E6 .... I then need to drag all these formulas to the right but need the ratio in the brackets to stay as that ratio..=(D180/C180)*F5 .... =(D181/C181)*F6 and so on but i dont want to have to manually install the $ to fix the numbers in the brackets in all the formulas that i dragged down.

I need to turn all theses formulas i have created (by dragging down) from =(D180/C180)*F5 to =($D$180/$C$180)*F5 without having to manually have to go down to each cell and hit F4 twice to be able to now drag these formulas to the right

Re: Fix A Cell Reference in multiple already created formulas

    I have done this
    =(D181/C181)*E5
    =(D182/C182)*E6
    =(D183/C183)*E7

    and need this
    =($D$181/$C$181)*E5 ... ($D$181/$C$181)*F5 ... ($D$181/$C$181)*G5
    =($D$182/$C$182)*E6 ... ($D$182/$C$182)*F6 ... ($D$181/$C$181)*G6
    =($D$183/$C$183)*E7 ... ($D$183/$C$183)*F7 ... ($D$181/$C$181)*G7

without having to manually fix the references in the brackets before dragging that formula to the right. For a handful its not a big deal but i sometimes need to do this for several hundred lines and it is tedious and takes too much time

If you want the column references to remain the same and only change the row references as the formula is dragged down and across then start with: =($D181/$C181)*E5
If this doesn't do what you want, then please utilize the instructions in the banner at the top of the page to upload a sample that will show the results of the formulas you have and (manually typed) the results you want the formulas to yield.

Re: Fix A Cell Reference in multiple already created formulas

I have attached a small sample of the sheet i am referring to. I have manually fixed all the cell references. How i have made this sheet is i made the formula in cell E32 as =(D32/C32)*E5 i then dragged that formula down from E32 to E42. I then fixed the cell references in all of those cells before then dragging the new formulas with the fixed references to the right.

In cell E52 I put in the formula with fixed reference to the columns only (i.e. =$D52/$C52*E5). I then dragged the fill handle down to cell E62 and then over to cell AY62 (no further modifications were needed). Notice that the values are the same as those in rows 32:42.

Thanks for the help. That seemed easier than i thought. I guess i just assumed that if i didnt fix the rows as well that when i dragged it to the right the row reference would move over as well and cause issues.

    Thanks!!
