Vertical line on Pivot Chart

Hello,

I am looking to see how a vertical line can be added as a part of the chart vs. a manual one to show "New Model Launch".The issue with the manual one is that when new data is added, i have to manually shift it each time. If the line can be a part of the chart then it would shift automatically.

Attached is a sample.

Any assistance would be great.

As to the position of vertical line, what's the dependency on the dataset?

The simplest way, as for me, is to add scatter.

You could add a record

Week 2.5 New motor launch | New motor launch

This would add a category to the horizontal axis. To make it taller you would need more repeat records.

Another way is to add 2 shapes to the chart object and position them with code

Thank you for the reply. Can you please walk me through how you added this line to the pivot chart. Also, if my real data set is shown in 100% stack bar where the y axis is 0-100% instead of volume, what do i need to change the sample data set Y axis values to?

As I mentioned, "add 2 shapes to the chart object".

Select the chartobject and then insert a shape.
Changing the stacked column to 100% stack will make no difference.
