Pivot Table Row headers are edited and dont match with source data even after Data Refresh

Pivot Table Row headers are edited accidentally and don't match with source data even after Data Refresh.
How can I solve this problem?
And also how can I restrict accidental editing in this area of Pivot Table?

Row/Column headers displayed are just "Captions" and has no direct relation to underlying data.
It's handled by Object layer.

This can be set/changed in multiple ways, in all cases changes are retained after refresh.

1. By editing the Cell holding Row/Column header directly.
2. By right clicking on Row/Column field. Field Settings, "Custom Name".

In your case, it looks like you need to directly edit as it pertains to specific item caption within Row header field, and not just the field caption.

Both ways only Column header can be edited and row header cant be. Row header is edited directly in cell like simple excel worksheet data. But on refresh the value is not going back to the values as in source data.
As you say that Row/Column headers displayed are just "Captions" and has no direct relation to underlying data.
It's handled by Object layer. It seems to be lacking feature in excel. There should be some option to change values back to values as in source data and also some restriction from editing option should be available.

You would have to Clear All and then reconstruct the table.

It would appear a more granular Clear would be useful. You can suggested at

Yes I know that already. But that consumes too much time as pivot table needs to be recreated and reformatting of fields etc needed.
