Auto-fill cells until next value issue

Hi Team, (Disclaimer, all names in attached file are fictitious)

I have attached a .csv file that I need to talk about. If you can see in column A, there are names and blank cells below them until the next name.
I need to auto-populate those names until the next name.

Easy, all I do is:
- Select column A
- Go to special
- Select blanks
- press = and 'up' arrow and hit CTR+ ENTER which makes it apply to all names and blank cells in column A

Sorted.

HOWEVER, I sometimes need to delete that original name which then creates a #REF error because the formula ends up being broken.
Is there a way to do the above but also get to delete the original cell?

After doing your Ctrl-Enter to apply the formula to the selected cells, then you should use Copy | Paste Special | Values | OK and then press the Esc key, in order to fix the values (i.e. to remove the formulae).
