    INDEX/MATCH error

I have two spreadsheets linked by INDEX/MATCH call them Calculations and Data. On opening Calculations I am now getting an error saying - Sorry we couldn't find a link to an irrelevant shqrepoint file. The odd thing is there is no shareponint document involved. I selectively deleted all cells on the Calculations spreadsheet until I found the cells casuing the error and it was my INDEX/MATCH formulae. These look to cells in the Data spreadsheet stored on our server - not on any sharepoint source. Googling I found a possible solution that the data path can't exceed 254 characters but mine is shorter. I have tried manually re-writing the formulae - using Data/Edit and moving files onto my laptop - nothing worked. Interestingly I get the same error once on my laptop.

Any help or advice would be gratefully received.

    Welcome to the forum.

There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook.

I have posted the two spreadsheets - as they are my payroll files I have deleted all confidential info. So PAYROLL BUREAU links to TIMESHEETS. The problem is the INDEX/MATCH looking to my server - which apparently does use sharepoint in the address - but the error message I get on opeing doesn't point to where the file is but to a totally differeent files and location

    Thanks fo rthe help
