Question Need Cap (limit max or minimum function code) calculation tip

    hi,

I am looking for a solution to below problem.

    NORMAL SCENARIO , SHARE 1 GETS 80% AND SHARE 2 GETS 20%

type TOTAL SHARE 1 SHARE 2
    A 100 80 20
    B 100 80 20
    C 100 80 20
    D 100 80 20
    Total 400 320 80

PROBLEM SCENARIO SHARE 2 GETS 20% BUT UPTO MAXIMUM 50, SHARE 1 GETS REST ALL

type TOTAL SHARE 1 SHARE 2
    A 100 80 20
    B 100 80 20
    C 100 90 10
    D 100 100 0
    Total 400 350 50

HOW TO CODE IF I HAVE TO FIX TOTAL SHARE OF SHARE 1 OR SHARE 2 TO A FIXED AMOUNT (FOR EXAMPLE 10% MAX 20, 80% MAX 200)

first of all, saying that you need urgently won't probably get you much help. secondly, when you said this:

I take that to mean that you want SHARE 2 to be a variable value, whereby you put ''x'' percent into it, and then the difference (to make a total of 100%) into SHARE 1. correct? If that's what you want to do, all you need to put in the column where SHARE 1 data resides, is a simple subtraction formula.

Re: Need Cap (limit max or minimum function code) calculation tip

    Thanks for reverting,

i have tried a bunch of formulas but no avail, what i need is that if there is a limit value for a total share 1 can avail then the rest of the raw's calculation should also be adjusted.

i.e. if the share 2 is 10% with maximum 10 then if the first line with type 1 will calculate share to as 10 (10% of 100) but as now the limit in total for share to is reached (10 is maximum he can avail) so calculation should stop and not go to type B, then type C and then type D
