    Index/match question

    Greetings,

Not sure if Index/Match would be the best for what I'm trying to accomplish, but I would be grateful for any solutions to this problem. I'm trying to compare a set of account numbers in column A, with a long list of account numbers in column b and if a match is located it will produce a result of pulling data in column E in the same row that the match was located from column b. Column A may have duplicate account numbers too, but if that happens it would just need to produce the same match results, etc. I tried searching this site and online, but couldn't quite find anything that worked. Really appreciate your time. A sample workbook is attached.

    Re: Index/match question

    How about
    =INDEX($E$3:$E$53,MATCH(A3+0,$B$3:$B$53,0))

    Re: Index/match question

Fluff13-Thanks for looking at this. I get a #N/A with that formula. Edit to add. It does work thank you! The #N/A is only if there isn't a duplicate found. Thank you!

    Re: Index/match question

Not on rows 13 & 14 you shouldn't as they are the only rows where the value in col A matches a value in col B.

    Thanks Fluff!

The #N/A only appears if no duplicate is found, but it does find the associations. Really appreciate your help!
