The Formatting in my PivotChart KEEPS RESETTING

Hello all,

A slightly frustrated excel user here looking for a breath of fresh air.

I've been creating PivotCharts and making them look all pretty, but every...single...time I refresh them the formatting completely reverts so my data labels go back to where they are, the pretty colours become all ugly again. I think you get the idea.

Please help.

One reason (amongst many) that I rarely use them. Somewhere there is a Preserve Formatting check box that works... at least most of the time.

Unfortunately, this hasn't worked either as it's the Chart that's having the issue.

I uploaded a couple of images above to best demonstrate this.

I've tried these as well, no luck. Grrr.

I was going to try and create a macro that saved all my chart templates then reapplied whenever the page is refreshed but for some reason whenever I try to go to the chart template interface the whole workbook crashes!!

One of the things mentioned in the linked article is that pivot charts lose their formatting when the pivot table is changed/refreshed.
Would producing a regular graph from the pivot table be an option.
If so then the linked article may help, although it doesn't address donut charts.
If the article isn't helpful then you might consider uploading a sample of the data to see if one of the contributors can propose a work around.

I've had it with PivotCharts as well.

I ended up using slicers in Tables (CTRL+T) and made normal charts with series from those Tables.

No more losing formatting when slicer changes filtering.
