The file you uploaded does return zero when C1:C7 are blank since it's counting the number of "Pass" words which is zero.
Please clarify.

i want the formula to automaticaaly count the blank cells and put the total in C10
I think you'd use COUNTBLANK for that.

range is from D8 to D14.
function should count all the words with the name "Pass" . if three cells has the word it must return the value of 3 in cell D16.
if all the cells in the range has zero value empty cells, it must count it and return 6 in cell D16.
the range will always only have the word Pass or blank cells in it
Not sure why you've changed the range but here's some examples
