Excel workbooks don't open up when double clicking on them.

    Hi there,

My friend has a problem. When he double clicks on an excel file (on his desktop or any other place in his PC), excel opens up, but not with the document he double clicked on. Instead it opens up with a blank workbook. This still happens even if he opens excel up first and the double clicks on a document (it just creates another blank workbook).

To open up a file he has to open excel up first, and then find it from the "open" option.

He says the problem started after his PC crashed and he's not been able to solve it since. Do you have any idea why this might be or how to change it? He's tried re-installing excel.

I've checked the path of all the documents (and tried to re-create them) but it doesn't have any effect.

    Many thanks!
