I am using the sum function to total a row of values in Excel 2003. These values are the results of multiplication functions involving decimals. I have these results formatted as currency (it's a payroll tax calc sheet). My problem is that although Excel displays the result of the multiplication equation with 2 decimal places, I'm thinking it must store the results with more decimal places. Occasionally, my final total is off by a few "pennies". Is there a way to "finalize" the rounding that takes place after the initial multiplication function?
Here's my specific example: The total of my multiplication functions is $48.87 in currency (but 48.867465 under general formatting). When I double the $48.87, my result shows $97.73 (currency).
