    Other Number Base Systems

Is it possible to use a non base 10 number system? I have in the past needed to fill a range using hexadecimal (base 16) eg. 01 -> FF, I always end up inputting them manually which take quite a bit of extra work. (Also use base 8 on occasion.)

    Is that Better?

Sorry figuring out what to put as a title when several different questions are asked is always going to be something I fail at.

    I also fail at reading...

    See DEC2OCT, DEC2HEX, OCT2DEC, and HEX2DEC functions.

    Re: Other Number Base Systems

Seen those before but can't work out how to use them for a single cell, I mean I can do =Dec2hex(a1) which converts a1 from dec to hex obviously. But not how to have it work on the same cell. So to auto-fill a range 01-ff I'd need a column of 1-255 and then use the above Dec2hex function.

    If I use =dec2hex(1) ... =dec2hex(2) etc then it won't fill a range.

    Re: Other Number Base Systems

You can't do it in a single cell -- that would require VBA.
