using a jpeg as a result

Hi don't know if this is the right board for this so apogolies if it isn't...

I'm doing some charts and as an immediately visual aid I'd like to have, in a box at the side of each chart, a smiley/thumbs up if the figures are above a target line and a sulk/thumbs down if they are below the target line. but don't know a formula to do this??? Any ideas???
    More info....

it's a chart that is filled in weekly and it has a desired fixed target for each week say.... 80.... So if a week happens to be 79 or below, then I'd like a sulky jpeg/bitmap to appear at the side of the chart.... and again if its 80 or above, then I'd like a smiley jpeg/bitmap to appear.

    Thanks in advance...

Thats great... is there anyway I can fix the location of the smiley to one particular cell rather than each row having it's own

making it update after every cell inputted???

    Dolly,

Add another named range to your sheet (in my example called curWeek)...

And then change your formula in AM19 to read...

I've came across a problem and need some more help.... sorry guys...

I've attached a book with a description of the problem....

In short, can I use another phrase instead of #n/a that wont affect the charts line...( if over 12 weeks one week is empty what can I use that wont make the chart line drop down to zero)... and more importantly wont mess the formula up...

Sorry, I'm not by a pc with xl right now, but my guess would be to use CountA instead of Count in the named formula and to not use na (leave blank) for the future cells.

I think I fixed it, but it took a little tweaking...

Re: using a jpeg as a result

    Like I said, some tweaking...
    • Change formula to COUNTA
    • Remove future #N/A's
    • Swapped Series1 & Series2 on graph
    • Added named ranges for graph series
