    overtime formula problem

    MY PROBLEM IS IN OVERTIMES.

OUR REGULAR LOG IN TIME IS 8:00(C3) AND LOG OUT TIME IS 17:00(D3) AND LUNCH PERIOD FROM 12:00 TO 13:00 WITH OUT PAY. thats 8hours in all

I HAVE THIS FORMULA WHICH WORKS GREAT WHEN I LOG IN OVERTIMES, AT LEAST I THINK IT WORKS. BUT WHEN I ENCODE THE NORMAL TIME, TO CHECK IT - WHICH IS 8:00-17:00 IT DISPLAYS An 1HOUR EXCESS OR OVERTIME.

    =IF(SUM(C3:D3)>8,8,SUM(C3:D3))

    ANY HELP?

    Re: overtime formula problem

Format the cell as General, then use this formula:

    =MIN(8,(D3-C3)*24)
