Cell currency conversion

In my spreadsheet I am working in both Euro € and sterling £.

In some cells I want to convert from Euro € to Pound £ and show the appropriate symbol automatically when I do the conversion i.e change from € to £.
Is there a way to do this and can someone on the panel describe it to me

may I suggest to define on one place currency (so you can change it whenever exchange rate changes) and refer to that cell...
