How to create simple formula in Excel for shift roster

Hi All,

I need help to create a formula in Exceel to create shift roster, I am not good in this, can some one help me on this, critieria are mentioned below..

1) Number of people

6 Resources

2) Number of people is each shift

2 Resources

3) Working hours and days working is it 12/5 or 12/7

Monday: 2100 to 1400 ( next day) IST

Tuesday: 2100 to 1400 ( next day) IST

Wednesday: 2100 to 1400 ( next day) IST

Thursday: 2100 to 1400 ( next day) IST

Friday: 2100 to 1400 ( next day) IST

Saturday: 1400 to 1400 ( next day) IST

Sunday: 1400 to 1400 ( next day) IST



In effect Monday to Friday 2100 to 1300 hrs ( next day)

Saturday and Sunday 24x7





2) Shift timings



2100 hrs – 0600 hrs (next day)

0500 hrs – 1400 hrs



1400 – 2200 hrs (only on Saturday and Sunday)



3) Frequency of change in shift (weekly or monthly)



Whichever is easier - Preferably Weekly.

Mahaveer, I know the Microsoft Office website provides some templates for shift rosters.
