Help with frequency

I need some help with using the frequency function.

I have attached a copy of my spreadsheet.

On mini-dashboard under "# of frequency". I would like to know the frequency of categories and tags used from PayCheck - DEC-09-B.

Any ideas?

Adam, given the validation list in B2 is dependent upon A2 it would appear as though A4 / B4 are meant to be a basic count of Category / Tag - in which case use COUNTIF, eg:
