    Weighted Averages Help

I need some help with averages. If you look at the attachment, P79 & Q80 are averages of the percentages in columns P & Q. They are just an overall average and are not weighted based on the amount of job (column F). Is there any way to base the average percentages on the percentage based on the job amount? I know that probably doesn't make sense but I don't know how else to describe it.

    Re: Average Help

First, could you please adjust your thread title to something more accurate (for search purposes) to what you need and then if you attach a small sample workbook with your expected results this will help.

    Re: Weighted Averages Help

OK Lets try this. Attached is a sample workbook. The average between G2 & G3 is 27.5%. That is correct but because row 2 is a larger dollar amount, I'd like column G to be a weighted percentage. The average savings isn't truly 27.5%. It's much higher than that because the 24% savings is a based on a lesser savings value.

    Re: Weighted Averages Help

But isn't the savings still relative to the amout?

What if you sum the results from B, D, and E and then use your formula you will get 28.67%?
