Userform: Convert textbox value from string to type long

I have a user form. In this form is a textbox. The textbox default data type is string.

how to convert this string into a long data type value. Any ideas?

I know there is the "VAL" command in vba........but i thought this just converted the string into an integer data type.

I prefer the Val function, because it doesn't error. If your code can work with the user entry "zsadf" being interpreted as 0, I'd go with Val instead of CLng.
