conditional formatting based on due dates

    Hi,

i am working in a pharmacy and i have extensive list of drugs that expire at a certain date. The excel sheet contains the name and the expiration date of the drug, so i was wondering if i can use conditional formatting for automatic chance of cell color when, let's say the drug is 60, 30 and 10 days before expiring.

    Thank you very much!

    Hi,

Assuming dates are in column A then just add three conditional formats using the 'Formula Is' option. The first of which is

and set the cell background to say red.
Now add two more CFs with the same syntax, just changing the <=10 to <=30, and <=60, setting the background for each as appropriate

Re: conditional formatting based on due dates

Thank you for the quick reply. I did all that but every due date (even the one that is next year) went red (which would mean the due date is in 10 days). Is there something, some checkbox I am not paying attention to or?

    Thanks

Difficult to say without seeing your workbook. Please upload it and I'll take a look.
