Link between CTRL-C and Google Chrome?

I've been using Excel 2000 everyday for years with no problems, running on Windows XP. But recently I've noticed that when I try to copy and paste using CTRL-C and CTRL-V, it doesn't work properly when I have Google Chrome or Internet Explorer open. Instead of pasting the formula, it pastes the actual number in the copied cell. Also, the outline around the copied cell remains black instead of having the dotted line.

When I close the browser, copy and paste work properly. I don't remember doing anything differently to cause this to happen. It's really strange. Does anyone have a clue?

    Hi kinosh1

    Welcome to the forum.

I believe it may be a restriction from IE / Google site where you can't use Ctrl / Alt key (or evey clipboard) on some of the secured sites and I guess they are restricting the usage of clip board / Ctrl key... try relaxing the strictness of the browser or call your local help desk people. thanks.
