Text Boxes: Insert/Text Box vs. Developer Text Boxes

I have routinely inserted a text box to contain notes. I am curious, what is the difference between the simple text box found on the Insert Ribbon compared to the developer text box control?

Aside from having many more properties options with the VBA version, is there really a difference? Can they be used interchangeably?

    Just wonering....

If all you need is a box to hold comments, the simple Drawing textbox is good enough. Controls textboxes in UserForms are a convenient way to gather user inputs.

Makes sense. Where would I find in-depth list of Text Box properties?

That is a good question. Within Visual Basic, I would look at what the Object Model says for Properties and Methods. Another simpler approach is to create a TextBox and right-click it.

Just below the word Title you will see a dropdown with the word No prefix.
    Change to Solved
