    Formula for my Betting Spreadsheet

Hi, I am a newbie here (as well as excel) so apologies if this does not make sense.

I am making a spreadsheet up for calculating my Sports Bets (just figuring how much I am losing haha!)

Need to calculate how much do I need to spend to get a 5% return from a total.
i.e. If my account has $200 therefore 5% = $10 and the odds are $1.50. I need to spend $20 to get total of $30 with $10 profit. I know the odds of $1.50 and my account $200. What formula would calculate this?

    Thanks

Re: Formula for my Betting Spreadsheet

    =return / (decimalOdds - 1)

    e.g., =10/(1.5 - 1) = 20

Based on your last post it seems that you are satisfied with the solution(s) you've received but you haven't marked your thread as "SOLVED".
For the meantime I'll do it for you.

    How?
    New quick method:

Or you can use this way:

How to mark a thread Solved
    Go to the first post
    Click edit
    Click Go Advanced
Just below the word Title you will see a dropdown with the word No prefix.
    Change to Solved
    Click Save

    Note:
You can also thank those who have helped you by clicking the small star icon located in the lower left corner of the post in which the help was given.
By doing so you can add to the reputation(s) of those who helped and shared their time in helping you.
