Help with stock take - multiple listings of part numbers that need to be accumulated

    Hi Guys (newbie here)

Need some help with a barcode scanning issue. Doing stock take real soon and I have quantities and part numbers as listed in the sheet attached. There are numerous part numbers that will be the same but scanned individually. I need to create a list that represents each part number once and that adds up all the quantities together. eg.

    Part - Quantity

    53996040 1
    53774220 4
    53996040 1
    53884221 1
    53996040 1

    Needs to be:

    53774220 4
    53884221 1
    53996040 3

    Your help will be appreciated!

That's a job for pivot table.

    See the attached file.

    Help Required Variance Report.xlsx

Thanks very much! Basically with the stock take, you have quantities on hand, counted and variances (differences) which are either +, - or =. My on hand quantity might be 10, but I count only 6 which means there is a variance of -4. You could also count items which was not in your starting stock as well. Please see the spreadsheet attached and let me know. Danke

Maybe you can also add the desired (expected) result in your sheet.

    Don't find the differance (yet).

But if you re-arange your data you could use pivot table to sum your data.

    See the attached file.
