When Excel 2010 chart is copied and pasted into PowerPoint 2010, thicker graph line comes

Hi Excel Forum,

I have created an Excel graph (say A) using Excel 2003 based on data up to Dec 2012 .

This chart was then copied and pasted into PowerPoint 2003 using “picture (Windows-metafile)”. My Director wants to minimize bytes occupied by the PowerPoint graph.

It worked well. The graph in PowerPoint looks good.

However, recently our office was installed with 2010 ver. of both Excel and PowerPoint.

Yesterday I updated the graph A above using data up to 2013 Feb, using Excel 2010.

Then chart was copied and pasted into PowerPoint 2010 using picture (Windows-metafile).

Question:
Some graph lines are fine but one graph line became way too thicker.

I tried to make it thinner but didn’t work.

Could someone help me ?

Try the other paste special options in PowerPoint. In 2003, the metafile option gave the nicest pasted chart. In 2007 and later, often the bitmap looks best.

Were you able to find other solutions for this issue?

I am facing the same problem.

The funny thing, i tried to copy the graph which showed a thicker line on Powerpoint, from Excel to Excel and it gave me the same result.
Not all the graphs have thick lines, only one or few of them.
If i change the entire graph to bigger or smaller size the lines go back to normal.
Would be excellent if the line thickness doesn't change in any size.
