Merge and Change colours of the cells by Date

Is there any way to Merge the cell and coloured automatically by Date range same like above picture.
In the Image:

"MERIAN FROM 1/1/2014 12:01:00 AM TO 1/2/2014 10:15:00 AM" is Merged and Coloured according to Date January 1 and Time 00

Same also...
"SILVER FERN FROM 1/2/2014 1:20:00 PM TO 1/3/2014 11:20:00 AM"


Please someone help me to get out from the problem.
