I have a word document that is in a basic outline form with indentations for each level of the outline. Here's a sample of what I'm talking about.
ADEPHAGA Schellenberg, 1806
*GYRINIDAE Latreille, 1810
**SPANGLEROGYRINAE Folkerts, 1979
**GYRININAE Latreille, 1810
*HALIPLIDAE Aubé, 1836
*TRACHYPACHIDAE C.G. Thomson, 1857
*NOTERIDAE C.G. Thomson, 1860
**PHREATODYTINAE Uéno, 1957
**NOTERINAE C.G. Thomson, 1860
This forum won't display it tabbed out, so i put in an asterisk* where a tab would be.
There's about 12 pages of this. I would like to bring this into Excel so that it looks like this (a dash indicating a new column).
ADEPHAGA Schellenberg, 1806 -GYRINIDAE Latreille, 1810 -SPANGLEROGYRINAE Folkerts, 1979
ADEPHAGA Schellenberg, 1806 -GYRINIDAE Latreille, 1810 -GYRININAE Latreille, 1810
ADEPHAGA Schellenberg, 1806 -HALIPLIDAE Aubé, 1836
ADEPHAGA Schellenberg, 1806 -TRACHYPACHIDAE C.G. Thomson, 1857
ADEPHAGA Schellenberg, 1806 -NOTERIDAE C.G. Thomson, 1860 -PHREATODYTINAE Uéno, 1957
ADEPHAGA Schellenberg, 1806 -NOTERIDAE C.G. Thomson, 1860 -NOTERINAE C.G. Thomson, 1860
Each level of the outline (the number of tabs indented) would get put into its own column. It would also be nice to take that one step further and break out the Lowercase names and years into their own columns as well.
Am I asking for a miracle here?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Marc
